Muerren is a charming village in the Bernese Oberland. It is situated on a shelf of Alpine pasture forming a balcony overlooking the steep cleft of the Lauterbrunnen Valley, and it is completely cut off from car traffic. From Muerren a cable-car takes its breathtaking ride up to the Schilthorn summit, from where you can enjoy exceptional panoramic views of the spectacular mountain trio "Eiger, Mönch & Jungfrau" and other peaks. The Hotel Eiger is a traditional 4-star hotel with 49 rooms, suites and apartments. It is a first class hotel with a wealth of tradition and is run by the same family in its 4th generation offering a charming ambiance. The hotel is in central, but quiet location near the Muerren railway station and the Alpine Sports Center. The Hotel Alpenruh is a cozy 3-star chalet-style hotel with 26 rooms with phenomenal view of the Jungfrau mountain range with its famous peaks such as the "Eiger". It is located right by the gondola station that provides access to the Schilthorn mountain.
