Hotel Spalentor
The Hotel Spalentor in Basel is a modern 3-star hotel with 40 rooms. It is centrally located in the Western part of the Old Town near the "Spalentor" (City - Gate) and right around the tramway station that provides easy access to all places of interest including the exhibition halls. Also within 15 minutes walking distance is the main railway station. The Hotel Spalentor has been totally renovated in 2007 and now is a NON-SMOKING hotel. The facilities include the Breakfast Room with a magnificent view over the roofs of the town of Basel, the hotel bar, a modern gym room, a small business center with free access to the Internet (wireless LAN), a game room (billard, dart table soccer) and a playroom for children. The Hotel Spalentor also offers bicycles to discover the city, it is wheel chair accessible and has two specially equipped rooms.
Description of Double Standard Room:
The Double Standard rooms at the Hotel Spalentor are spacious and comfortably equipped; some have a view of the Spalentor, others are facing beautiful old facades; some rooms have balcony and some have a sitting area. The bathrooms have a bathtub including shower (some with shower only) and a hairdryer. All rooms feature Cable-TV, radio, DVD-player, direct dial telephone, coffee and tea making facilities and free mineral water. Rooms are available with 2 Twin Beds (separate or together) or with 1 Queen-size Bed.

Single Room: smaller Room with 1 Twin Bed; Bathroom with shower only
Triple Room: more spacious Double Room (with Roll-away Bed)
Family Room: 2 rooms with connecting doors

By Public Transportation:
Upon arriving at the Railway Station in Basel, take bus no. 30 (airport bus) and exit at the "Spalentor" stop. You can also use one of the tramways no. 2, 8, 10 and 11 in direction of the city. Exit at the "Bankverein" stop and change to line 3 reading "Burgfelden Grenze". Exit at the "Spalentor" stop.
If you arrive at station "Badischer Bahnhof" take bus no. 33 and exit the bus at the stop "Spalentor".
If you arrive at the "Euroairport Basel-Mulhouse" take bus no. 30 direction to the main train station ("Bahnhof SBB") and exit at the "Spalentor" stop.
By Car:
Exit the highway at the "Basel-City" exit and follow the signs to "Bahnhof SBB". After the station the "Kantonsspital" will be announced on several signs: follow them. After a while, you will come to a big crossroad, where on your right you will see the "Spalentor". The hotel is just on the other side of the street.
