Hotel Schweizerhof, Zermatt

The superior 4-star Hotel Schweizerhof & Residence with 114 rooms and suites is built in traditional Swiss chalet style and is ideally located in the heart of Zermatt on the main street for shopping, entertainment and dining, and only a few steps from the railway station and bus stop for accessing the mountain rides. The Hotel Schweizerhof offers an easy-going, yet elegant ambience; it features 3 restaurants: the "Schwyzer Stuebli" for Swiss cuisine; the "Da Mario" for Italian cuisine and the "Prato Borni" for cheese specialties.Guests with the dine-around meal plan have the choice of totally 12 restaurants throughout the village. Additional amenities at the Hotel Schweizerhof include the indoor swimming pool, and a wellness area with Jacuzzi, Steambath and Sauna. During the winter season, daily entertainment (piano music) can be enjoyed at the cozy bar and lounge with open fireplace, or Swiss Country Music at the restaurant "Schwyzer Stuebli". The hotel also offers the Kids Club "Nico" taking care of children 2-8 years, and a complimentary shuttle service to/from the railway station and the mountain rides.

Description of Double Standard Room:
The rooms at the Hotel Schweizerhof have recently been renovated and feature a rustic décor with warm colors; all rooms have a balcony. The bathroom has a bathtub including a shower, and hair-dryer.All rooms are equipped with Cable-TV, radio, alarm clock, direct dial-out phone, wireless Internet connection, safe and mini-bar. All rooms have two Twin Beds (separated or pushed together); smoking / non-smoking rooms are available on request.

Single Room: smaller room for one person; without balcony

Triple Room: = Double Room with Extra-Bed

Junior Suite: larger room with 2 Twin Beds (pushed together) and sitting corner

Superior Junior Suite: modern and brightly decorated, these south-facing rooms have a view of the “Matterhorn” and a larger bathroom with bathtub plus separate shower

Family Suite: 2 rooms; twin-bedded room & separate living room; ideal for families with up to 2 children

Penthouse Suite: 2 chalet-style rooms; twin-bedded room & separate living room with fireplace

Description of Residence Apartments:
These apartments are for 2 - 6 persons (and are located in a separate building across the street from the Hotel Schweizerhof).

All apartments feature an integrated kitchen, dining table, sitting area and some have a balcony. The bathroom comes with a shower or a bath tub and a hairdryer. Other room amenities included a safety deposit box, color TV, radio, telephone and minibar. Residence-guests can get breakfast at the hotel's dining room, and have free access to the swimming pool, sauna and steambath.

Directions on how to get there:
By Public Transportation:
Upon arriving at the Zermatt Railway Station look for the information booth and call the Hotel for shuttle service. Or walk along Main Street to your right, where you find the Hotel Schweizerhof after approx. 100 meters to your left (on Main Street).

By Car:
Drive to Taesch, from where you either park the car at a public parking garage, and take the train to Zermatt. Then follow the instructions above (public transportation); or you can park at the hotel’s own parking in Taesch, and a taxi service will get you comfortably to Zermatt (this service needs to be pre-arranged).
