Hotel du Theatre, Zurich

The Hotel du Theatre in Zurich is an elegant 3-star Design Hotel with 50 rooms. It is located at the gateway to the Old Town, in the center of Zurich, close to shopping and several attractions, and within only five minutes walking distance to the railway station. The Hotel du Theatre is a historical bed & breakfast hotel and used to be an important light theatre. Today it is the only hotel with an extensive audio book facility to listen to numerous stories (in English, French or German). Further amenities at the Hotel du Theatre include an Internet corner (free of charge), a breakfast room with great views onto Zurich's pulsating city life, and the new "La Suite" lounge to enjoy a drink or snack in the evening.



Description of Double Standard Room:
The Hotel du Theatre offers charming rooms with stylish, fashionable designed furniture. All rooms have a view of the street and city life of Zurich, and each room is individually decorated with its color theme and special art pictures from the archives of the former theater; lighting effects provide a touch of stage. The bathroom has a bathtub including shower (some with shower only), and hair-dryer is provided. All rooms are equipped with Cable-TV, radio, phone (ISDN with voicemail, analog or digital modem for fax and internet connection), safe, mini-bar, cooling system and noise-abating windows. The Standard Rooms have one queen-size bed; smoking / non-smoking rooms are available on request.

Description of all other Rooms:
Single Standard: smaller room with 1 twin-size bed for one person; bathroom with shower only.

Single Plus: larger Single Room with larger bed; bathroom with bathtub or shower.

Double Twin: larger Double Room with 2 twin-size beds (pushed together); bathroom with bathtub including shower or shower only.

Mini Suite: Two individual shaped mini suites are located on the 5th floor. They have a charming sitting area - one of them with view to the stars. The suites have a spacious, modern bathroom with either a bathtub including shower or shower only.

The Hotel du Theatre offers a truly special atmosphere being the only hotel in Switzerland with an extensive audio book facility to listen to numerous stories in English, French and German. The hotel is centrally located between Main Station and Old Town; it's breakfast room and business lounge offer great views onto Zurich's streets.

Directions on how to get there:
By Public Transportation:
At the Railway Station (Zurich Main Station), walk towards the Main Exit and then walk for approx. 5 minutes first across the bridge, and then cross the plaza (Zentral Platz) and walk to the right slightly uphill where you find the Hotel du Theatre; or take Bus Nr. 31, tram Nr. 4 or 10 at the railway station, and exit at the first stop (Zentral Platz), then walk along the street slightly uphill and you will immediately see the Hotel du Theatre; or get a taxi in front of the railway station.

At the Airport, either take the train to Zurich Main Station, take a taxi, or pre-arrange the Hotel du Theatre’s shuttle service (at surcharge of CHF 25.00 per person).

By Car:
- Coming from Bern, Basel or Zurich Airport: Follow signs to “Zurich City” and “Zurich City / Zentral”, then “Zentral / Rapperswil”; you will follow the street along the river in the left lane until you reach the “Zentral” where you also see the Hotel Zentral to your left; then follow the roundabout and turn right slightly uphill following signs “Forch / Seilergraben” where you will see white & blue advertisement for Lindt Chocolate and the Hotel du Theatre around the corner.

- Coming from Lucerne or Chur: Follow signs “Zurich City” and “City / Hauptbahnhof” (= Railway Station) until you get to the Railway Station, the cross the bridge following signs “Zentral”, then at the roundabout on the “Zentral Place” follow signs “Forch / Seilergraben” taking the street to the right slightly uphill, where you will see white & blue advertisement for Lindt Chocolate and the Hotel du Theatre around the corner.
