CASCADA HOTEL, Lucerne

The Hotel Cascada is a friendly 4-star, centrally located city hotel with 63 modern rooms. This hotel is within 5 minutes walking distance to the Railway Station and the lake, and only few more minutes to Lucerne's Old Town and other attractions. The Cascada includes the restaurant "Bolero" which is well known for its creative cuisine of Spanish and Mediterranean dishes, and the hotel lounge with bar offering a wide selection of wines and cocktails in a cozy atmosphere. Further amenities include the Internet corner (free), Wireless LAN Internet access and several meeting rooms - all have been completely renovated in 2008 offering state-of-the-art technology. Hotel guests are also entitled to a reduced entry fee at a nearby fitness center. Outdoor and garage parking are available at a surcharge.


Description of Double Standard Room:
All rooms at the Hotel Cascada have been recently renovated and feature comfortable, modern furniture, soundproof windows and updated technology. All rooms are facing the streets or the backyard (without balcony). The bathroom of these rooms is equipped with a shower, and a hair-dryer. All rooms include Cable-TV, radio, telephone, wireless Internet connection, mini-bar, safe, and Air-Conditioning. The rooms at the Hotel Cascada are each named after a Swiss waterfall (cascada) with a painting by Swiss Artist Heinz Blum of such in each room. The rooms include 2 twin-size beds (pushed together) and a few rooms have one queen-size bed; all rooms are non-smoking.

Description of all other Rooms:
Single Standard: smaller room for one person; with one twin-size bed (90 cm); bathroom with shower only.

Single Superior: smaller room for one person with one queen-size bed (140 cm); bathroom with shower only.

Double Superior: larger room with seperate sitting corner; some bathrooms with bathtub including shower

Triple Room: = Double Superior Room with extra-bed

Special Rooms: Wheelchair accessible

Directions on how to get there:
By Public Transportation:
After arrival at the Lucerne Railway Station, walk to the Main Exit where you can either take a taxi or bus (see below), or walk to your left and follow the “Zentralstrasse” for approx. 400 meters. When you get to the “Bundesplatz” you will see the Hotel Cascada to your right. Or take the public bus Nr. 4, 5, 6, 7, or 8 and exit at the 2nd stop called “Bundesplatz”. Then cross the street where you will find the Hotel Cascada 50 meters ahead to your left.

By Car:
- Coming from Zurich, Basel or Bern: take the highway exit “Luzern-Zentrum“ following the sign “Allmend / Kriens“ (take the right lane at the exit). Then pass 4 traffic lights and then take the left lane and turn left into the first street (“Moosstrasse”); follow this street to the roundabout at “Bundesplatz”. The Hotel Cascada is located across the roundabout to your left - park your car on the public spaces behind the hotel. Employees at the front desk will assist you regarding long-term parking.

- Coming from Gotthard (Italy) or Interlaken: take the highway exit „Luzern-Süd“. Then turn right at the traffic light following signs “Luzern-See“ (stay in the right lane); turn right at the third intersection following signs “Verkehrshaus / Küssnacht“. Now follow this street to the roundabout at “Bundesplatz”. The Hotel Cascada is located across the roundabout to your left– park your car on the public spaces behind the hotel. Employees at the front desk will assist you regarding long-term parking.
