Hotel Adler, Zurich

The Hotel Adler is a traditional and charming 3-star hotel with 52 rooms in a building originally built in the 14th century. The hotel is located in the heart of the Old Town of Zurich, called “Niederdorf”, a short walk through the town’s alleys to the railway station, to the business and shopping areas, to Lake Zurich and numerous other attractions. The facilities at the Hotel Adler include the Bbeakfast room, which is the Restaurant "Swiss Chuchi", well known for its traditional and exquisite Swiss cuisine and seasonal dishes like Fondues, Raclette, Sliced Veal with Rösti Zurich-Style, and many more. In the upper lobby is an Internet terminal (free of charge) and in addition the whole building has a wireless LAN.


Description of Double Standard Room:
The rooms at the Hotel Adler were recently renovated (2005/2006) and enjoy a view either to the “Hirschenplatz” or to the backside to the “Rosenhof” (street and city life of the old town). All bathrooms have bathtubs including shower (some with shower only); hairdryer and cosmetic mirror. All rooms are equipped with noise abating windows, Cable-TV with radio, cooling system, room safe, mini-bar and direct dial telephone (ISDN with voicemail, analog or digital modem plug in for fax and internet connection). Every room is individually painted by Swiss artist Heinz Blum and shows a different landmark of the city of Zurich. All rooms have 2 twin-size beds (together or separated) and smoking / non-smoking rooms are available on request.

Description of all other Rooms:
Single: smaller room with 1 twin-size bed; bathroom with shower only.

Double Queen: room with "Grand-lit" bed (queen-size bed) for 1 or 2 persons; bathroom with bathtub.

Junior Suite: large twin-bedded room with a sofa (or sofabed for 3rd person) in separate sitting corner; some rooms with balcony.

Family Junior Suite: larger Junior Suite ideal for families (with 2 children)

The Hotel Adler is a centrally located hotel in the heart of the Old Town of Zurich in a traffic free zone. It offers individual rooms with original paintings and the famous Swiss Restaurant “Swiss Chuchi”.

Directions on how to get there:
By Public Transportation:
At the Main Railway Station take a taxi (approx. CHF 10.00) or Tram Nr. 4 direction “Tiefenbrunnen”; exit at “Rudolf Brun Brücke” stop; then walk along the river to your right, and after approx. 100 meters you will see signs to the Hotel Adler to the left; the hotel is located at the “Hirschenplatz”. If you prefer walking from the railway station, cross the river and walk along the “Limmat-Quai”, and you find the Hotel Adler after less than 10 minutes walking (look for the “Rosengasse” and brown hotel sign to your left).

From Zurich Airport: either get the train and follow directions above, or you can get a shuttle which is departing from a platform located between Arrival Terminal 1 & 2 (charge of SFr. 25.00 for 1 person; SFr. 35.00 for 2 persons).

By Car:
Coming from any direction, follow the signs to “Zurich City”; then follow signs direction “Rapperswil”, “Urania”, “See” and “Central” along the river until you reach a red light; then turn left and cross the bridge; at the next intersection follow brown hotel sign to Hotel Adler. After unloading at the hotel, you will be informed where to park your car. Or, you can park your car at the "Urania" parking garage before crossing the bridge, and then walk across the bridge and to your right where you find the Hotel Adler within 3 minutes.
